‘SONG in the CITY’ recital series

We are delighted to be hosting a series of song recitals in the intimate surroundings of our newly refurbished Hall. ‘SONG in the CITY’ (patrons: Sarah Walker CBE & Iain Burnside) brings to the heart of the Square Mile talented young singers and pianists, largely chosen from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and under the artistic directorship of the talented young accompanist Gavin Roberts.
Each group of concerts aims to profile both well-known and lesser-performed repertoire, and celebrates interesting themes—the series taking place in June/July reflects the topical theme of ‘The Olympics in Song’:
Thursday June 7: ASIA, Tales of the Orient
Thursday June 14: AFRICA, On Safari
Thursday June 21: AUSTRALASIA, Antipodean Song
Thursday June 28: THE AMERICAS, North & South
Thursday July 5: EUROPE, A tour of Olympic Cities
All the concerts take place at 1.05pm and admission is free (retiring collection).
