Parish & Ward Church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate

Director of Music announces retirement

It was announced on Friday 6 September that Timothy Storey, our Organist and Director of Music since 1997, has decided to step down following a period of ill health. The parish will be able to say thank you and farewell to Tim later this autumn for his years of faithful and diligent service to St Botolph’s.

We are now beginning the process of recruiting his successor in the hope that he or she will be in post from Epiphany 2014. This is an interesting and challenging post for the right person, who will receive a warm welcome and be strongly supported in a role vital to the life of this parish. The Organist and Director of Music’s duties include one weekday service with professional singers (there being no Anglican Sunday worship) for which the remuneration will be £5,100 for an estimated 8 hours per week. There are also a good number of weddings, Livery Company and other special services which are remunerated separately at desirable rates. The closing date for applications is Friday 18 October, and interviews and auditions will be held at St Botolph’s on Saturday 23 November. Further information including a job description and person specification is available from applications@botolph.org.uk.
