Dr Turner's 90th Birthday celebration

Our Honorary Assistant Priest, The Revd Dr John Turner, achieved his 90th birthday on Friday 15 August, and on the following day family and friends joined Trustees and staff of St Botolph's to help him celebrate. A Eucharist of the Feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary was followed by a convivial gathering over wine, a buffet lunch and birthday cake in the Church Hall. Dr Turner seemed to enjoy being made a fuss of, and was most appreciative of the cards and gifts which guests brought for him.

Thanks to Michael Scargill, Chris Watkins and Mhairi Ellis for photos.

Service over, the birthday boy makes his way to the Hall for lunch.

A goodly gathering.

Among the guests were Fr John's son Francis and daughter-in-law Miho (on left), over from their home in France for the occasion.

Churchwarden Chris Watkins thanks Dr Turner for his nearly 30 years of ministry at St Botolph's and congratulates him on his birthday.

Still plenty of puff!
