Rector delivers Seminars for the Defence Academy at Amport House

The Rector of St Botolph's was invited to deliver a series of five lecture
seminars at Amport House, near Salisbury, on 1 and 2 October 2014. The
seminars assembled a large and diverse group of army, navy and RAF
Chaplains around the title of 'The Establishment Revisited: Etsi Deus non
daretur'. The second half of the title is a theological slogan originating
in the work of Hugo Grotius and the seminars explored the themes of Civil
Religion, the Bifurcation of the Secular, First Amendment Jurisprudence in
the US and the future of 'established religion' in the armed forces. The
photos below show the stunning surroundings of Amport House as well as the
Rector chatting with The Revd Dr David Richardson (RAF) and The Revd Colin
Bell (Army).
