Parish & Ward Church of St. Botolph without Bishopsgate

Rector visits our Sister Churches in Connecticut and New York over Thanksgiving

The Rector of St Botolph's visited our sister Churches in Greenwich,
Connecticut and in New York City from 19-28 November. He addressed Church
services in both Churches, as well as preaching in the Chapel of the Good
Shepherd to the Faculty and Students of the General Theological Seminary in
New York. He was privileged to attend the largest ever Dinner of the relief
organisation, Episcopal Charities, held in the Cathedral of St John the
Divine. Following meetings with the Bishop of New York, with The Revd
Douglas Ousley in NYC, and The Revd Ted Pardoe and The Revd Meg Finnerud in
Greenwich and local laity, he was also privileged to spend a night
volunteering at Pacific House, a dinner distribution pathway for the
homeless and hungry of Stamford, Connecticut. He held discussions with
Nancy Coughlin, Executive Director of 'Neighbor to Neighbor', a food pantry
servicing the working poor of Connecticut, and visited with marginalised
seniors in Greenwich. It was an absolute delight to stand up in the Church
of St Barnabas at the Eucharist on Thanksgiving Day and to relay the
heartfelt greetings of the Church of St Botolph in person!
