St Botolph's Day celebrations

Our Patron St Botolph was celebrated in style as usual on Wednesday 20 June with a wonderful Choral Festival Eucharist. The Celebrant was The Venerable Luke Miller, Archdeacon of London (and our interim Priest-in-Charge), and we were delighted to welcome The Very Revd Dr David Ison, Dean of St Paul's, as the select preacher. The service was attended by an encouragingly large number of the St Botolph's 'family' including representatives of the Ward, our associated Livery Companies, the Bishopsgate Ward Club (including the President, Inez Benjamin, who read the first lesson), and neighbours including St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, and XLP, the youth charity based at All Hallows London Wall. Iestyn Evans directed the choir in fabulous music by Lassus, Byrd and Hassler. After the service all enjoyed sparkling refreshments and a very special cake made for the occasion by congregation member John Marshall, who also stood in with a Warden's wand.

Below are some photographs of the celebrations, and a copy of the Dean's sermon is attached.
